Applications
Flexible power and control cable for fixed installations. To be used in locations where concentration of people is high: hospitals, malls, offices, classrooms, auditoriums, etc.
It can be installed in free air, in ducts or cable trays. In small sizes, it is used as control cable for the inner part in cabinets.
Construction: Singlecore or multicore copper conductor from 3 to 5 cores.
Conductor: Class 5 flexible copper conductor according to IEC 60228.
Insulation: Crosslinked Polyethylene (XLPE) with excellent electrical properties, good resistance to ozone and chemical agents. Cores identification by colors.
Oversheath: Black FREETOX® compound. Low fire hazard thermoplastic, halogen free, low smoke emission, flame and fire retardant, resistant to weather and UV radiation. Other colors upon request.
Marking: Nexans FREETOX-FLEX SERIE 3 RZ1-K "size" 0.6/1 kV 90°C "Certificate number" "Manuf. order" "Date" CHILE "sequential length"
Design Alternatives
FREETOX-FLEX-RAT: Resistant to rodent attack.
FREETOX-FLEX-BLIND: Shielded with copper tape.
FREETOX-FLEX-BLIND-TZ: Shielded with a tinned copper braid.
Other rated voltages upon request: 1,8/3 kV.
Other sizes or construction different to those included in the catalog.
INSTALATION CONDITIONS FOR CURRENT CARRYING CAPACITIES
Current carrying capacities based on table N°4.4 according to RIC N°4, They are applied for installations where ducts and cables are not directly exposed to solar radiation.
(3) direct current buried at 20°C: Sheathed, single conductor or multi conductor cables (Three conductors with load) installed directly buried. Installation Method D2 according to RIC N°4.
(4) current in buried duct at 20°C: Single conductor or multi conductor cables (three conductors with load) installed in buried ducts. Installation Method D1 according to RIC N°4.
(5) duct current at 30°C: Up to three single conductors or multi conductor cables (three conductors with load) installed in ducts or trays attached to walls. Installation Method B1 and B2 according to RIC N°4.
(6) air current at 30°C: Multiconductor cables (Three conductors with load) installed freely in the air, in conductor ladders or in conductor baskets or in perforated trays. Installation Method E according to RIC N°4. Single conductor cables: Three conductors with load, in contact and in a flat arrangement, installed freely in the air, on conductor ladders or in conductor baskets or in perforated trays. Installation Method F according to RIC N°4.
For buried installations, a depth of 0,7 meters and a thermal resistivity of the soil of 1 K*m/W.
Current capacity correction factors must be considered according to the specific installation conditions.
