Fondation Nexans announces 2024 Call for Projects winners
Jul 22, 2024On 22 July, Fondation Nexans announced the eleven initiatives that will be rolled out globally over the course of this year and that will promote the construction of a more sustainable and egalitarian future for citizens. The projects chosen to be part of the Call for Projects 2024 campaign will be developed in eleven countries and will have a significant impact on various communities around the world. Among the winning NGOs are LITRO DE LUZ Brazil, TECHO CHILE, TECHO PERÚ, TECHO COLOMBIA, ACCESMAD in Madagascar, among others.
In 2023, we worked together with Fondation Nexans and the NGO TECHO CHILE to install solar public lighting with photovoltaic panels in vulnerable communities in Chile. In this way, we managed to install 100 public lighting systems in 4 regions of the country, thus benefiting around 1,600 people through access to energy. With this initiative, we contribute to the UN's seventh Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) to ensure affordable and non-polluting energy.
This year, for the third consecutive year, Fondation Nexans will finance a new project of the NGO TECHO CHILE. The "Roof for Chile" project seeks to address the security concerns of the vulnerable population. Following the same line as the previous year, this initiative will focus on installing solar-powered street lighting to improve the general well-being of residents and create a safer environment.
At Madeco by Nexans, we reaffirm our commitment to continue promoting the construction of a sustainable energy future and a more egalitarian society.
