We start our innovation laboratory: "Madeco Lab"
Apr 9, 2024On Thursday, April 9, we began an unprecedented process: we created the new Madeco Lab. This innovation process seeks to ensure that through internal competitions, all the company's employees can dedicate their time to devising solutions for customers, especially electrical installers.
Camilo Elton, General Manager of Madeco by Nexans, highlights that Madeco Lab is a laboratory dedicated to creating solutions for the needs of our end users. "We have begun a cultural transformation because we are convinced that, as we celebrate 80 years of history, we need to be competitive for the future. We are convinced that the way to do it is through innovation," he said.
"Our dream is that each of us feels that we can be part of Madeco's innovation, because we are all invited to be part of this. The dream for me is that the 200 people who are in this company actively participate in this process," Elton said.
Unlike previous innovation processes, the idea is that Madeco Lab does not have an end date. Along these lines, Vanessa Antenucci, Head of Marketing and Innovation at Madeco by Nexans indicates that "we are looking for an innovation laboratory to install a culture of innovation in the company and that it is a continuous process that remains, and not a process of limited projects".
To form this new laboratory, Madeco by Nexans consults with an External Innovation Committee that is made up of Francisca Martin (ForoInnovación), Daniel Daccarett (EtM), Julián Herman (Boston Consulting Group), Pablo Ivelic (Echeverría Izquierdo) and Lorenzo Gazmuri (ChileMass).
Daccarret highlighted the unusual nature of the new Madeco Lab "this is an industry that is not generally involved with the innovation ecosystem. I find it remarkable that Madeco is developing its innovation area and inviting all its employees to participate from the beginning, with the aim of discovering new businesses and opportunities".
